Art Fair at School 9

On 22nd of May, an Art Fair took place at school 9. We couldn't miss this opportunity and, collaboratively with others, in groups, had to think of an activity that involved art that would involve a class of young students. We also had to collect all the supplies so that there will be enough for all the kids to participate in the activity.
Together with Karina Semochkina, we have decided to teach the kids to decorate wooden photo frames with eco-materials, such as different shapes of pasta, colourful beans and wheat. The night before the Art Fair we went to the supermarket in order to get all the supplies for the activity. The next morning, when we went to school 9, we had some time to set up before the kids came for the activity. We decided to put each type of decoration into a separate bowl, so that the kids don't get too overwhelmed with the variety of choices.
When the kids came in, we told everyone to sit around the tables, so that every pair of kids had each type of decorations in front of them. We also gave them PVA glue to glue everything to the photo frames. Overall, I think that everything went really well - all the children (including Karina and I) were enjoying the activity. We ourselves managed to decorate a couple of photo frames, as we had a couple of spare ones. However, in the end, when the kids left, the classroom was a mess - there were beans and pasta everywhere on the tables, on the floor, on the chairs, so we had to clean everything up.

Overall, by taking part in the Art Fair, I have managed to achieve the following learning outcomes:
- Increased awareness of strengths and areas of growth
- Undertaken new challenges
- Planned and initiated activities
- Worked collaboratively with others
- Developed new skills
